| Nomad Strike Team Primed and ready to paint |
Time to consider the composition of my Nomad Strike Team. Just like my PanOceania I'll be building of the standard IceStorm starter set, and filling out the list to make the team up to 300 points.
In contrast to the previous Strike Team I've opted to make my heaviest model the team Lieutenant. The Mobile Brigada is a tough model with multiple wounds and a respectable level of armour. The multi-rifle should make him effective at medium range.
The Reverend Healer is a good doctor and religious, making her effective even when the team suffers a loss of lieutenant. The downside is that she is relatively slow moving and is thus unlikely to ever make use of that explosive close combat weapon she is carrying.
The Spektr is a TO Camo, infiltrating assassin, made all the nastier by giving him and assault hacking device. The option to deploy hidden is always worth using.
Next I opted to add a pair of heavy hitters. A Gecko squad, giving me a pair of TAGs armed with twin weapons gives them +1 burst in their active and reactive shooting, always a nasty
surprise for a sniper. The Gecko is small for a TAG, but big relative to a regular trooper. And big means that they will draw fire away from other models. I admit I'd love to have a sectorial that that would let me put four on the table.
The Alguaciles are included as line cheer leaders, primarily included to lend their orders to the TAGs, but also to cover lanes of fire and make a nuisance of themselves. I might have added more than three if I'd had more models.
The Grenzer I've added is not the normal sniper that most people will be adding to their teams. Instead I've opted for the Forward Observer with a Sensor. I've done this because usually I like my snipers to have camouflage, something the Grenzer doesn't. But I think I can put him to use and keep the costs down as an FO, plus that makes him a specialist who can achieve mission objectives.
Finally to fill out the points I add a Riot Grrl, she is a heavy infantry with a Boarding Shotgun for close up fire fights, she packs an MSV1, and hyperdynamics making her very good at avoiding incoming fire. I also like the model as this is another of those power armoured female models that doesn't fall into the cheesecake trap of having her anatomy on display. She looks powerful and feminist and that works for me!
