When I was growing up at 4pm every weekday the TV was set to ABC Family. Gilmore Girls was on and my brother and sister knew better than to change the channel. It was literally the only time of the day that I got control of the remote. I’d seen every episode multiple times, but still loved Lorelei and Rory’s witty antics.
When Netflix started streaming every episode you better believe I had an extreme binge and watched every single one rapid fire. My dear husband watched with me occasionally and will admit that it is quite a funny enjoyable show. When Netflix announced the revival episodes I almost lost it. My friend Annie and I would race to text each other updates anytime there was an announcement.
After the LEGO Wedding was over I had so much more time on my hands and needed a new hobby. Cross stitch had been on my radar for awhile, and after hand embroidering so many felt flowers, I felt like I could totally do it. I started small and bought a little kit from JoAnn's and I was hooked. It was the perfect hobby for casually watching TV, and by that I mean re-bingeing on the TV shows of my youth.
With the excitement of the Gilmore Girls revival on my mind, I asked my wonderfully talented husband to write me up an original work of cross stitch art. He took to his computer and man did he deliver! I started this project in August, it was meant to be done before black friday to celebrate my favorite girl coming back. However, when we decided to move it got put in a drawer and left it unfinished for months.
With the New Year I got a bug in my bonnet to make more things! I realized I spent a lot of time on pinterest finding my next project, without ever starting one! I dug it out of the drawer and got busy finishing it. (The TV didn't shrink, moving out of your dad's house leads to a change in lifestyle.)
But now you can make your own! We decided to share the design for free because I love this little blog, and appreciate any person who takes the time to read it! My only request is that you let me know when you’re done, I’d love for you to tag me on instagram, or upload pictures to the comments section. Click HERE to download your own!
Let me tell you though, this project was a doozy. The design is very solid, and pretty big (I framed it in an 8x10 frame), so it takes some serious time and energy to finish. But with so much great Netflix content out there why not? At least when you finish all eight seasons you’ll have this little beauty to show for it!
